The Good Life

(Shirt and skirt: F21, Shoes: Maurices, Belt: Old Navy)
Today, I'm all dressed up with nowhere to go. The list of things to do today include preparing a speech for next Tuesday that I have yet to start on. I might even miss work just a tiny bit right now. But I know I'll wish for nothing to do come 7am on Tuesday, when I have to wake up for work, so I shall enjoy the boredom today.
These next few months hold a lot of exciting things and I am so excited for everything to come.
  • My birthday is in a week!
  • I'm going to get Sprinkles cupcakes on Friday!
  • I'm going to look at two apartments with my future roomie, Caitlyn, on Friday!
  • The end of the semester in just a few weeks!
  • Jake's sister's wedding in June, for which I'm making the wedding cake and cupcakes!
  • Puerto Rico trip in July with Jake and the fam!
  • Moving to Phoenix to go to ASU at the end of July!
It's looking like a great rest of Spring and Summer!
Any exciting upcoming plans for you? I'd love to hear about them!
(I guest blogged over at Elisha's blog yesterday. Check it out here!)

It's All In the Details

(Shirt and Jeans: Old Navy, Cardigan, earrings, and Purse: F21, Bow: Made by me, Shoes: Maurices)

The Awkward:
  • The little boy at camp that would say "Excuse me..." a million times and state the same facts over and over again.
  • The girl that wore jeans and a pull over hoodie for her interview that I saw today. Do people not understand that you dress up for interviews anymore? You could at least wear a nice shirt with your jeans...
  • How I'm kind of desperate to spend four days talking to just adults. So looking forward to talking to people that won't make you repeat the same thing ten times and still only do half of what you asked them to.
  • How horrible my posture looks in that last picture. I swear I was just bending down so I could get my head in the picture since I'm taller than my tripod by quite a bit.
  • The amount of times I've applied hand sanitizer while at work.
  • And here's the ultimate one of the week. Getting to work to find out your car won't turn off. Panicking that you can't turn it off or take out your key. Panicking that you have no cell reception to call anyone. Realizing 5 minutes later that you're still in drive. Awkwardddddd.
The Awesome:
  • How I'm exhausted right now but still feel so good for whatever reason.
  • My new purse. I'm in love.
  • Four days off.
  • My birthday being next weekend.
  • The lunch date I had with Jacob yesterday. His craziness keeps me sane most days.
  • Going into your old place of employment and being so grateful for your job now because you realize it was 100 times worse there.
  • A best friend date tonight. Which means I get to see my favorite baby. She doesn't count under kids I don't want to talk to.
Tomorrow's Friday! If that's not a reason to smile, I don't know what is!
Hope it's an absolutely beautiful Friday for all of you!

She Sounds Like a Boy!

The birthday package I talked about yesterday! So excited to show off some more of these goodies in my next outfit post!

What I made at work yesterday. I'm a cat lady without the cats. Jacob says it's more of a lifestyle. I'll definitely be getting a kitty come August!

My mom made us Easter bags this year but she can never wait to give them to us so I got mine today!

I also made this at work. I was far too excited that we had a Pokemon coloring sheet. I did it for Jacob but he didn't want it :( So my brother, who has an undying love for Pokemon, gladly accepted it.

The Easter bag goodies!

This is definitely an old picture but I just stumbled upon it this week. In June 2010, I cut off 11 inches of my hair to donate to Locks of Love after my goddaughter was diagnosed with stage four cancer. It's crazy to think that was almost two years ago. Can't wait to do this again some day.

Why is anyone friends with me on Facebook?

Another oldie I came across. Christmas 2009 at home in Puerto Rico. My brother and I are obviously strange ones.
How is my birthday and trip so soon already?! So excited!

Real quick, can I just bring up the fact that one of the campers told me I sounded like a boy today? A FOUR YEAR OLD LITTLE GIRL.
I was pretty much on the verge of tears.
But not really.
But I am sensitive about my man voice.
So obviously, I made you a rambling video so you can hear my deep voice.
(Excuse my ridiculous facial expressions)

A Birthday Package

(Shirt, ring, and Cardigan: F21, Jeans: Old Navy, Purse: Fossil, Sandals: JcPenney)

Yesterday, I spent the entire day waiting for my birthday package from F21 to arrive. For whatever reason, the UPS man seems to leave our house for last. Jacob and I were cuddling away the afternoon and I had no urge to attend my horrible nutrition class. Jacob on the other hand, was convinced that I needed to go. He's obviously the logical one. Sometimes. So, as I lay on the floor refusing to go to class and complaining to him, I saw the UPS man pull up! ....5 minutes before I had to leave for class. Either way, at least it arrived and Jacob made me go to class because we had two quizzes.
So I'm extremely excited about all my clothes but unfortunately, I worked today and the next two days so I must wait to show them all off. But I did get dressed after my workout to go to the store real quick and decided to snap a few pictures!
If I am absent the next two days, just know that I'm working away earning lots of money and feeling sluggish because I couldn't get my morning workout in before work.
Can you believe tomorrow is already Wednesday?!

Blast From the Past

Remember that break through I was talking about? That was just the tip of the iceberg. Maybe more on that later but I've been going through tons of old pictures and wanted to share some of my favorites!
How cute is my mom's outfit here?!

My brother really liked me for a few years at the beginning!

I rocked the curls and the diaper and shirt look.

I also rocked the bowl cut. And had a really cute kitty.

My siblings and I were huge fans of candy cigarettes.

Oh, first Grade.

First moments with momma.

Ultrasound with all the siblings.

My dress for my kindergarden graduation. They go all out in Puerto Rico.

Why don't I still have this outfit?!

My "first kiss" caught on camera!

"The Simple Things Are Often the Truest."

(Shirt: Eight Eight Eight, Shorts: Maurices, Scarf: Gift, Watch: Fossil, Bracelet: Med ID? Haha, Purse: Fossil, Shoes: Maurices)

I wasn't planning on sharing my outfit today since it's so simple but then I thought, why wouldn't I? How can I share my personal style if I can't post about the casual days as well?
It's getting hot here in Arizona so I busted out the trusty shorts. I think I spent all last summer wearing these very shorts. I'm not so sure I'm reading to embrace them again. It feels too early but then I remember it's almost April.
SLOW DOWN, TIME.
I have to admit that my outfits recently have all been very simple. I'm kind of on this journey of learning to be comfortable in my own skin and this week has, for whatever reason, been somewhat of a break through. I've just felt great in so many ways. I've been embracing simple pieces and feeling so comfortable and beautiful in them. I really have no idea how to describe it all but I'm really enjoying this litte journey.
Speaking of that, have I mentioned how encouraging and wonderful Jacob is? That man has to have some major patience to deal with my craziness at times and I'm so grateful that he always makes sure I know how beautiful I am. He definitely keeps me sane at moments where I'm at my breaking point. I am forever thankful to have that guy by my side.

Happy Saturday! Hope you're all having a fabulous weekend!

Nice To See You, Spring!

(This picture was an accident but it fit so well with awkward and awesome Thursday so I had to include it)

(Shirt: Thrifted, Cardigan: F21, Jeans: Old Navy, Flats: Maurices, Purse: Fossil, Necklace: Etsy gift)

The Awkward:
  • Seeing someone you know while you're sitting at the coffee shop but you're both a little unsure of who the other is. So you just glance over at each other for an uncomfortable amount of time.
  • When your little, old professor gives you the same hand out every class period for a good three weeks, forgetting that he ever gave it to you.
  • The fact that it snowed on Monday but is 74 degrees and mighty sunny today. Oh, Arizona.
  • Looking at my yearbook with my brother's girlfriend (who I graduated with) and remembering that we went through everyone in our class and labeled with different color of pen if they were pregnant/had a child/were engaged/were married/dropped out/were dating someone. It was hilarious to see who was still together and even more hilarious to think that we took the time to do that during AP Calculus.
  • When Jacob's mom asked me if I wanted to be friends with her on Facebook. She's hilarious and adorable.
  • Sitting down to do work for my online classes everyday for a week and only getting one assignment done. I need help.
  • Seeing a teacher whom you peer tutored for in high school at Walmart. He insisted on giving me money at the end of the semester to put towards my college fund because he thought I did so well. I felt horrible keeping the money to myself so I gave it away to a good cause and just put it behind me. I still feel so uncomfortable running into him around town.

The Awesome:
  • Wearing my hair in its natural state again. Hair, I love you and I'm sorry I straighten you so much.
  • Feeling good. Who knows what happened in the past two days but I just feel GOOD.
  • The clothes that will be here next week for my birthday present! Still so excited about this! So many florals coming my way!
  • Deciding almost 100% on where I'm going to school next semester and where I'll graduate. Not particularly a fan of the actually school but it is close, offers a good education, and I'm just relieved to have that stress off my shoulders.
  • My birthday being in FIFTEEN days! Insane that it's almost April! Time, stop speeding by!
  • My chocolate covered banana necklace I'm wearing today that my best friend got me for my birthday last year.

What I've Been Doing Wednesday

I took Jake lunch for us to have at his work. 80% of it was his.

My poppa being a champ after he got out of surgery last week. He had 6 hernias repaired and 17 little punctures in his tummy to get them all!

My new boyfriend I found at Costco. Sorry, Jake.

I made my brother go out in the snow with me. We're Puerto Rican and obviously not used to it.

I went to visit my little, sweet baby friend and she killed me with that smile as usual.

My little Red Riding Hood has never seen that much snow in her life.

Spot chubby little Amanda!

What I wore today. Fashion blogging even when I'm not doing outfit posts?

My birthday is in 15 days already! So my momma let me pick out clothes from F21 and order them as my birthday present. I am going to do a major happy dance when that package arrives. I haven't had 14 new items of not thrifted clothing in years!

Painted my nails pink even though I'm not a huge pink fan. This color reminds me of Barbie.

Guys, I did some food blogging. This is huge since my poor baking blog has been neglected for almost 4 months. Go check it out here!

There's a little peek into what my Spring Break and today looked like!
I'm also featured on Thrifted Things for my first ever guest blog post!
Hope you're enjoying some lovely spring weather!
